Women’s Connection to meet June 14

Whether “slow and steady wins the race” or “life is a rat race,” life is a marathon, a race to the finish.

Everyone will be racing to the Congregational Church, 302 N. Spruce in Ogallala Wednesday, June 14 at 2:30 p.m. when the Grant and Ogallala Women’s Connection enjoy “Walking this Marathon of Life.”

Tickets are available at the door and include refreshments.

The special feature will be a presentation of the Petrified Wood & Art Gallery in Ogallala. The gallery is a showcase of natural history specializing in ancient woods and fossils collected by Howard and Harvey Kenfield since the 1950s. The gallery hosts visitors from around the world.

There is “no running out of fun” when guest speaker, Barbara Hoffner brings the stories of her experiences to life with little blue shoes! Barbara comes from Madison, Wisc. and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. She has a master’s degree in counselling and guidance and she loves traveling, photography and her grandchildren.

Reservations for the afternoon are very much appreciated and can be made by calling Wanda Poppe at 308-353-1715 or Evelyn McGregor at 308-289-5801 or via email to evelynlmcgregor@gmail.com

Life can be a stroll or a hike, a race or a walk, but it is always more enjoyable with friends, so be sure to invite friends, family and neighbors to join “Walking this Marathon of Life.”
