Youth Arts Program seeking donations for upcoming event

The Perkins County Youth Arts program is working on bringing Missoula Children’s Theatre to the school for the first time in what they hope will become an annual event.

This year, the MCT has been touring “The Snow Queen,” and will bring that show to Grant on March 7.

MCT Tour actor/directors will arrive on Monday, March 2 to audition and cast the kids for Saturday’s show.

“The lesson they learn is that all of them are necessary for the show to go on,” says Youth Arts Program president Gerty Wyatt. “Throughout MCT’s resicy week, our children will have fun learning lines, songs and dances.”

Wyatt hopes at the end of the experience, the children learn that if they work hard and push themselves, they can create something wonderful.

The cost of this year’s residency will be approximately $4,500. The program is working to raise money from the community to bring this experience to the children.

To donate to the Youth Arts Program, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 964 in Grant.

Any additional funds raised beyond those needed for this year’s event will be used in upcoming years’ productions or other arts experiences throughout the year.
