Youth encouraged to submit theme ideas for 2020 fair

Plans for the 2020 Perkins County Fair are well under way, and the week of July 19 - July 26 is sure to be a fun one.

The fair board has decided to once again open up a friendly competition to find the perfect theme for this year.

Youth in grades K-12 are encouraged to submit their ideas for the fair theme by March 13. Ideas can be submitted via the form handed out at school, the fair’s Facebook page, e-mail at perkinscountyfair@yahoo.com or by contacting a fairboard member.

Members will vote on the entries received at their March 17 meeting after which, the winner and their theme will be announced.

An exciting attraction at the fair has been the Muttin Bustin, which will return, however it will be limited to the first 40 kids registered before the event.

Registration will be available online on the fair’s website www.perkinscountyfairgrounds.com once it is available.

A change to note will be the parade route.

Due to the entertainment setup on Saturday morning, the grandstands  will be closed off. The board is adamantly working on the new route and more details will be released when they are available.

Any groups, organizations, businesses, entities or individuals who are interested in volunteering their time or resources at the fair are always appreciated and can contact any fair board member for more information.
