Dolores Patrice Lee, 86 of Elsie, devoted and adoring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed into eternal life on June 26, 2022.

Dorie was born on January 7, 1936 at Ogallala, Neb., the youngest of five children born to James and Kathryn (Duffy) Kildare. She attended school in Ogallala, graduating in 1954. Throughout her high school years, she enjoyed working at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On November 26, 1955, Dorie married the love of her life, Gerald James “Jim” Lee, and together on a farm south of Elsie, they shared the mission of raising their six children, loving the grandchildren and great-grandchildren while bringing them all closer to the heart of Jesus.

Dorie will be remembered by many whose lives she touched with her kindness, her caring nature, and her sense of humor. She was most happy and content while spending time with her family.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved being on the farm, where she fed them wonderful food (homemade chocolate pudding!) and played a mean game of cards. When she wasn’t with her family, Dorie enjoyed traveling with her husband, having lunch and visits with her girlfriends, gathering with her high school classmates, and sharing her time, talents, and treasures enriching others’ faith lives. Especially dear to Dorie was her involvement with Magnificat and being a devout member of Resurrection of our Lord Catholic Church. She was famous for her generosity and expressed her love by sending greeting cards for every occasion!

Dorie was preceded in death by her parents; her four siblings; her grandsons, Thomas and Francis; a granddaughter, Sadie; and numerous other family members and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim; sons, Patrick (Deb), Joseph (Kelly), Richard (Karen), and daughters, Pamela (Glenn), Teresa (Duane), and Roxanne (Keith); eighteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Dorie’s memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the Mass will be streamed live.
