Hastings, Neb. resident Donald Ray “Don” Tjaden, 68, passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022, at his home.    

Memorial Services were Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings. No burial has taken place at this time.

A Celebration of Life with coffee and pie will be held for Don at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at the Madrid Community Center, Madrid, Neb.

Don was born April 27, 1954, in Grant, Neb. to Edward H. and Ruth L. (Moranville) Tjaden. He graduated from Wheatland High School in Madrid, and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. 

Don worked in the carpentry and construction business and worked at several grocery stores. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and was an artist. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lindell.

Survivors are sister & spouse Lois and Joe Smalley of Reno, Nev.; brother Kenny Tjaden of Hastings; nieces Taylor Laveau (Channon Price), Raven (Ian) Bogan; nephews Steven Tjaden and Edward Tjaden.
