Gladys Dobler

Gladys Elaine Schumacher Dobler, 88, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Cmdr Leland R. Dobler; her parents, Carl and Rosa Schumacher; in-laws, Arthur and Marjorie Dobler; brother-in-law, Ronald Dobler; and sister-in-law Lynn Schumacher. 

She is survived by five children: Kendall (Suzanne), Stephen (Tanya), Phillip (Cyndi), Alexis, and Andrew (Amy); 11 grandchildren: Brice (Cris), Leah Peterson (Jarrod), Melody Schmoyer (David), Taylor Gamard (Edward), Nathan, Galyn Damiani (Joel), Lindsay, Danae, Leland, Aubrey, and Clayton and twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenny Schumacher; one sister-in-law, Carol Dobler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Gladys was born in Ogallala, Neb. and graduated as valedictorian from Perkins County High School. She went on to Doane College and then the University of Nebraska where she met her husband, Leland. The two lived overseas and across the country with the United States Navy meeting many dear friends along the way.  

Gladys deeply loved and served the Lord Jesus Christ and cherished her family.   

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 18 at 11 am ET at Bon Air Baptist Church with a reception immediately following the service.
