Jamie Apolius

Jamie L. Apolius, 31, of Ogallala, Neb., passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ogallala on July 18, 2023. 

Jamie was born on February 3, 1992, in Grant, Neb., to Donald and Shiela (Dunn) Apolius. He completed his education at Ogallala High School, graduating with the class of 2011.

At the age of 14, Jamie participated in a school-work program that led him to join the team at Bomgaars. From then on, he became an integral part of the Bomgaars family, bringing joy and laughter to all those he encountered, whether fellow employees or customers. With his mischievous smirk and playful nature, Jamie had a remarkable ability to brighten any environment he entered.

Jamie had a deep passion for farming and cattle. He found solace and happiness in spending time outdoors and being surrounded by his family. His infectious energy and kind-heartedness made him a joy to be around, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Don Apolius, and several grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Shiela Apolius of Ogallala; his brother, Josh (Megan) Apolius of Grant, and their children, Everett and Raylan; grandmother, Rita Apolius of Ogallala; along with many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss his presence.

A memorial has been established in Jamie’s honor for future designation. Condolences and memories can be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at New Hope Church in Ogallala. Prairie Hills Funeral Home of Ogallala was in charge of arrangements.
