One of fourteen children, Janie was born on March 27, 1950, in Spur, Texas, as a precious child of God, and went on to live a life of humble service to others.

Janie was a prayer warrior, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a faithful follower of Christ. She was known for her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved, as when entering her home, she would greet them with her unforgettable smile and ensure they always had something to eat or a cup of coffee as they visited.

Janie’s love for human beings was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her friends, acquaintances, and her family.  She found solace in communing with God several times a day.

She was a shining example of the power of prayer and the importance of family, and her memory will be forever etched in the hearts and minds of those who knew her.

Janie was a graduate of Longmont High School. After graduation, she and her family spent time in Madrid, Neb. where she married William Palu. The couple had four children.

She spent years as a farmer’s wife, homemaker, certified nursing assistant, and later did significant amount of work with several churches in Nebraska as well as Colorado as a Bible worker and/or praise and worship leader. She found joy in the simple things in life, such as praying, singing, playing the guitar, photography, and she always made time for everyone. Her beautiful voice and her talent for music and photography reflected her deep love for all things beautiful in this world.

As we mourn her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is at peace and is free of pain and suffering. We give thanks for the gift of her life and the example she set for us all, and we pray that her memory will inspire us to live lives of prayer, faith, love, and service to others.
