Judith Cunningham

Judith Lynn Cunningham, 80, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on April 19, 2023, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she had been residing for the past three years.

Judy was born in Grant, Nebraska to Charles and Sybel Gossard on April 28, 1942. She attended high school at Perkins County High School in Grant, Nebraska, and graduated in 1960. 

She moved to Denver to continue her education at business college. Judy remained in Denver and was a Medical Secretary for a pediatric office for 13 years.  

Judy married Jerry Cunningham in 1971. They were avid Broncos fans, holding season tickets for 20+ years, seldom missing a home game, and enjoyed traveling to a few away games. 

Judy finished her working career as a Benefits Analyst for Public Employees Retirement Association, working with them for 30 years. At the time of her retirement, she continued to work part-time at PERA and for a Hallmark gift store. Her semi-retirement allowed Judy to travel and spend more time with family and friends.  

Judy was a member of the Englewood Elks Ladies Club, a Red Hatter’s group, and several card-playing circles. Judy was a wonderful caregiver and her home was a refuge for many. 

In 2020, Judy moved to an independent-living community in Steamboat Springs to be near her cousin’s family.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Cunningham, and parents, Charles and Sybel Gossard.  She is survived by numerous family and friends that loved her dearly.

Funeral services were held at Mount Olivet Chapel, Wheatridge, Colorado, on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00.
