Lynette L. Palu, 78, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away, Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 6:18 p.m., at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Lynette Lou Crist was born June 18, 1941 in Blair, Nebraska to Lewis and Hilda (Barton) Crist.

She grew up in Ainsworth, NE and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1959. In High School she was involved in many activities including volleyball, chorus, glee club, and Future Homemakers of America. In her senior yearbook, she is self-described as enjoying good humor, spiced with giggles.

After graduation, she moved to Ogallala where she made her first residence and started a job at TRW. Lynette met Clarence Gary Palu in 1964, and they dated a short time before getting married on July 9, 1965. From this marriage came two daughters. Jody Palu, born in Grant. They then moved to Hettinger, ND in 1965, where they welcomed their second daughter, Paula Palu. However, Gary and Lynette did not like the extreme snow storms, so the family moved back to Ogallala in 1966, just three weeks after Paula was born.

Upon returning to Ogallala, she resumed her employment at TRW, which later became ASC. In February of 2007, she retired from ASC after 47 years of employment. On August 8, 2014 she moved to Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte, where she resided until her passing. In her adult life she enjoyed bowling, shopping, traveling, cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Lynette is survived by; her husband, Gary Palu, of North Platte; two daughters; Paula Crum, of Ogallala; Jody Palu, of Lincoln; one sister; Mary Jean Campbell, of Herndon, Va.; five grandchildren; Jadda Crum; Hannah Crum, both of Greeley, Colo.; Jacob Crum, of Loveland, Colo.; Brandon Palu; Josh Stone; and one great-grandchild; Kaiser Stone, all of Lincoln. 

Visitation will be held, Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (MST), at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. (MST), Thursday, December 12, 2019 in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Rager of the United Methodist Church in Ogallala officiating. 

Burial will be held, Friday, December 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. (CST) in the Blair Cemetery in Blair, Nebraska.

Memorials have been established in her memory.
