Mildred Martin

Mildred M. Martin, 93, of Wallace, Neb., passed away July 8, 2022, at Azria Health in Sutherland.

Mildred was born November 30, 1928, at Wallace to James Aubrey and Lily Rebecca (Dalgarn) Brown. She graduated from Wallace High School with the class of 1946.

On March 5, 1948, Mildred married Richard P. Martin at North Platte. The couple made their home in the Wallace area, where they farmed. Their union was blessed with two sons, David Lynn and Dennis Craig.

Mildred was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years and served as secretary. She had also been the secretary of the women’s society at the Wallace United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member.

Mildred enjoyed volunteering over the years. She had volunteered at both the library and satellite medical clinic for several years.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and her siblings, Virginia Clark, Jessie Sivits, Lily Cecil, Dorothy Fear, Donald Brown, and James Brown.

Survivors include her two sons, Dennis and David Martin, both of Wallace; sisters, Margaret Snyder of Oregon and Mary Sherman of Sterling, Colo.; sister-in-law, Dorothy “Dottie” Brown of Maidens, VA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in Mildred’s memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Services will be held on July 14, 2022, at 11 a.m. (CT), at the Wallace United Methodist Church, with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Wallace Morning View Cemetery, Wallace. The family requests casual attire.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Bullock Long Funeral Home in Grant.
