Thomas Lee

Thomas Lee, age 63, of North Platte, Nebraska, died at Great Plains Health on Jan. 28, 2020.

Thomas was born in Ogallala, Neb., on Nov. 28, 1956, to Francis and Roberta Lee. He grew up on a farm by Madrid and attended Wheatland High School where he lettered in football and track and was on the 880 relay team that took third place at the ’74 state track championships. 

After high school, Thomas went on graduate from Milford College and Mid-Plains Community College, with a degree in Heating and Air Conditioning, eventually hiring on with the Union Pacific Railroad. 

Thomas retired from the railroad in 2017.

Thomas was married and had two daughters, Darcey and Kelsey and lived in North Platte. He adopted a daughter, Tara, and his grandson, Raymond. 

Thomas was loyal to his immediate and extended families. He always had a good story of his childhood to share at family gatherings. 

When his daughter died, he spent much of his time caring and raising his grandson/adopted son, Raymond. He worked hard to give his immediate family a house and a home. He always had a helping hand for his friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta, of Grant, Neb. and a daughter, Darcey.

Thomas leaves behind his father, Francis Lee, of Grant, Neb.; his wife, Deb, of North Platte, Neb.; daughters, Tara Lee, and Kelsey Gnapp; son Raymond Jaye Lee, grandchildren Kayla & Kyranna; sisters, Deborah (John) Barker, of Chicago, Ill., Cyndi (Bob) Johnson, of Big Springs, Neb., and Shelly (Greg) Pollard, of Grant, Neb.; brothers, Russell (Denise) Lee and Mark Lee, (Therese Wheeler) all of Madrid, Neb., Steven (Gina) Lee, of Sutherland, Neb., and Joel (Deb) Lee, of Doniphan, Neb.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore was in charge of arrangements.
