Dr. Kristi Kohl submits resignation to Perkins County Health Services

Dr. Kristi Kohl has submitted her resignation to Perkins County Health Services in Grant, effective November 4, according to CEO Neil Hilton.

Hilton updated the PCHS Board of Directors of Kohl’s resignation during its meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

According to Hilton, Dr. Kohl has indicated she is committing to a practice opportunity in eastern Nebraska. Dr. Kohl has been employed at PCHS since 2009.

Hilton said with Dr. Kohl’s departure, and Physician Assistant Shannon Liewer-Fisher taking maternity leave near the end of the year, some degree of schedule rearrangement will be necessary among the balance of medical staff providers in covering shifts. However, Hilton said PCHS is extremely fortunate to have the depth of medical staff to allow this to be possible. 

Hilton indicated that hospital leadership and medical staff are just beginning discussions of potential options that could be implemented to recruit another Medical Doctor to Perkins County upon Kohl’s departure.

“We wish Dr. Kohl all the best in her next venture. She has clearly been a key contributor to the medical staff here for years,” Hilton said.
