Within 10 days of receiving a challenge grant in the amount of $100,000, Western Sky Community Care Center has met the challenge.

“This shows the dedication our community has towards this project, and reflects the commitment that is there,” said WSCCC member Mark Bottom.

“Meeting the challenge happened very quickly, and it’s just wonderful,” said Doris Olsen, WSCCC financial committee chair.

The challenge brought in approximately $132,042, according to Bottom, with the donor now matching that with $100,000. With new donations, WSCCC now has a grand total of $1,097,678.

The non-profit has a goal of raising $3.2 million by March to help the project go forward with either USDA funding or potential funding from local banks, Bottom said.

“We are just so thankful for the support we have gotten,” he said.

Those who wish to give may contact Doris Olsen at 308-352-6308, or see Steve Loeffler or Dennis Demmel. They may also take donations directly to Michelle Ross at Pinnacle Bank in Grant. Checks should be made to CMHC FBO Western Sky. Donations can be mailed to Western Sky CCC, P.O Box 966, Grant, NE 69140.
