Phillips honored at banquet

Chadron State College honored 23 Health Professions students advancing to professional schools during a banquet April 28. Dr. Megan Schuckman of Chadron was the speaker.
Director of the Health Professions Program Kristal Kuhnel said the banquet is a bittersweet ending to the academic year.
“While everyone associated with the Health Professions Program is delighted to see students successfully get accepted to and move on to professional school, we hate for them to leave because we will miss seeing them around the campus,” Kuhnel said.
Jerad Phillips of Wallace is among those advancing to a professional school. He will attend UNMC West for nursing.

Reichert graduates from WNCC

Western Nebraska Community College celebrated 264 students graduating with a degree, certificate, or diploma on Saturday, May 14 at Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff.
Included in the graduates is Paige Reichert of Grant with an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Lee among graduates at CSC

Andrea Lee of Grant graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in education from Chadron State College May 7. The college hosted a combined ceremony to honor students earning bachelor’s degrees.
Dr. Paul D. Turman, Nebraska State College System Chancellor, was the commencement speaker.

CSC announces Dean’s Lists

Chadron State College has announced that 346 students met requirements for the Dean’s List for Fall 2021 by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.
To qualify, students must have completed at least 45 credit hours, be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester.  Area students included on the Dean’s List at Chadron are Quinn Koop of Madrid, and Jerad Phillips of Wallace.

CSC awards master’s degrees

Cherie McClintock of Elsie and Jolene Christner of Wallace were among 65 graduate students receiving master’s degrees in the Chicoine Center Saturday, May 7. Both received Masters of Education degrees.

Fox earns graduate degree

Graduate and undergraduate degrees were conferred for 682 spring graduates at University of Nebraska at Kearney commencement exercises May 13 at UNK’s Health and Sports Center.
Earning a graduate Education Specialist Degree in school psychology education is Kendra Fox of Madrid.

Beck graduates with honors

Michael Beck graduated with honors Saturday, May 14 from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminology/criminal justice and a minor in psychology.
Michael is a 2018 graduate of Perkins County High School and is the son of Janet and Doug Beck.

Williams graduates with Associate Degree

Jessica Williams of Elsie was one of 23 Associate Degree Nursing students recognized with a pinning/commencement ceremony at North Platte Community College.
