Elementary students to dress for reading theme days

Perkins County Elementary students will take part in the Read Across America celebration February 28-March 4 by dressing for school with a different theme each day of the week.
Launched in 1998 by the National Education Association (NEA), Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. The program focuses on motivating children and teens to read.
At PCE, Monday will be “Read My Shirt” day, with students coming to school in readable shirts; Tuesday is “Reading Makes You Bright” day, students are asked to wear bright colors; Wednesday: wear athletic/sports clothing for “Reading Jogs the Mind” day; Thursday: “Reading Rainbow,” each grade will wear a different color (K—red, first—orange, second—yellow, third—green, fourth—blue, fifth—purple and sixth—rainbow) ; and Friday: “Snuggle up and Read” day: students may dress in comfy clothes.
