PC FFA: What’s New in 2022

The Perkins County FFA had a great end of the year!
The Officers had a blast at our Hall of States Booth at National FFA in Indianapolis, Indiana. The team handed out almost 3,000 bags of popcorn, and had the opportunity to talk to people from all over the country.
Shortly after, the Chapter attended the Livestock Evaluation, Agronomy, and Farm Management Contest.
The Chapter held its annual Fruit, Meat, and Cheese Sales, where we sold almost twice as much compared to the winter of 2020.
Members attended the district’s Leadership Development Event (LDE) Contest on Dec. 1. During this contest, Mason McGreer placed first in Creed Speaking, the first time Perkins County has sent a creed speaker to state in over a decade.
To end 2021, the FFA raised just over $200 during the annual Candy Cane Gram Fundraiser. With these funds, we will be able to make two $100 donations. One was sent to the Leadership Center in Aurora, Nebraska (where COLT is held) and the other was given to the Perkins County Health Services Foundation for their radiology department campaign.
The new year has come, and that means new opportunities and events are in store for the Chapter.
On Thursday, Jan. 13, PC FFA hosted the annual Lasagna Feed.
On Monday, Jan. 24 we held our Farmer’s Appreciation Dinner. Upcoming events include both Career Development Event (CDE) contests. CDE #1 is on the Feb. 9, and CDE #2 on Feb. 23.
March 1, PC FFA will host the yearly Hired Hand Auction.
