Wallace send works to RPAC Art

Five Wallace students sent pieces of artwork to the RPAC Art Contest in Cambridge last week.
Senior Denay Pelster was named the school’s medal winner for her piece titled “Jungle Bird” and won first honorable mention for “Italy” and second honorable mention for “On a Cloud.” Iran Pacheco’s piece called “Blue” was awarded third honorable mention.
Out of all the RPAC school’s medal winners, Alma’s Jonah Felix was named best in show for his acrylic painting.
Also taking artwork were Andrew Matson, Karlie Finley and Reagan Pelster.
Between the five students, Wallace had 14 different pieces of two-dimensional artwork.
Art teacher Melissa Nelms said Wallace has a very talented group of art students.
“It was very hard to choose pieces to submit in the art contest. I am very proud of all the hard work and dedication that the students have shown on their artwork,” Nelms said.
