Robertson, Gardner sweep 1,600-meter run at Sutherland
Competition was fierce at Thursday’s Sutherland Invite, but the Wallace track teams found ways to leave their mark.
Highlighting the meet were first place finishes by Mariah Gardner and Trey Robertson in their respective 1,600-meter runs.
Both had season best times and both had North Platte St. Pat’s runners on their heels. Robertson won by just over a second and Gardner won by just over two seconds.
Gardner also placed second in the 3,200-meter run, while Robertson was third in the boys’ race.
Carson Glunz was third in the 100-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash.
Ashley Robertson was fourth in the 800-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run.
Kendyl Flaming was third in the 300-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.
Matthew Lungrin placed sixth in both hurdle races.
Up next
The Wildcats will travel to the Paxton Invite Thursday, then have a week to prepare for the RPAC meet April 28 at Bertrand.
