SPVA All-Conference basketball teams announced
The South Platte Valley Association announced its all-conference basketball teams Tuesday.
Although Perkins County didn’t have anyone on the first teams for the boys or girls, several players were named to the second team and honorable mention.
Sophomore Kailee Potts and seniors Hunter Garner and Hayden Foster have earned second team honors.
On the honorable mention teams are freshman Libby Cole, sophomore Blake Garner and senior Tristan Hite.
The girls’ team had no seniors on the first team.
Class C1 girls’ state runner up Bridgeport, also conference champion, had four players honored overall, including first-teamers junior Ruthie Loomis-Goltl and sophomore Olivia Loomis-Goltl.
Rounding out the first team is Chase County’s Bryn McNair, junior; North Platte St. Pat’s Tonja Hierigs, junior; and Hershey freshman Alex Beverage.
Chase County, North Platte St. Pat’s and Hershey each have three players recognized, while Kimball has two players and Sutherland has one.
Conference champion North Platte St. Pat’s was crowned the Class D1 boys’ state champion last weekend and also had four players named to the teams.
North Platte St. Pat’s senior Jack Heiss and sophomore Brecken Erickson were on the first team.
Also earning first team recognition are Bridgeport’s Braxten Swires, senior; Chase County’s Kade Anderson, junior; and Hershey sophomore Cooper Hill.
Bridgeport also has four players recognized. Chase County and Hershey each have three players on the lists and Sutherland has one player. No Kimball players are recognized.
