Wallace boys beat Creek Valley

The Wallace boys’ basketball team enters the post season on a high note after an 88-51 thrashing of Creek Valley Friday night.
Camden McConnell was hot in the first half. The senior scored 12 points in the first quarter and seven more in the second quarter. Overall, McConnell made four 3s on the night.
Trey Robertson also had a nice first half, scoring 11 of his 13 points in the game’s first 16 minutes.
 With six players in the scoring column, Wallace led 53-25 at halftime.
The Wildcats offense cooled in the third quarter, but with a 65-38 lead entering the fourth quarter, Wallace turned up the heat once more.
Eight Wildcats scored in the fourth quarter, led by Jesson McClintock’s six points.
Three other Wildcats finished in double figures. Alec Messersmith scored 13 points, Kolton Hager added 12 points and  Kyler Flaming totaled 11 points.
McConnell led Wallace with eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Wildcats began their post season Tuesday night at Medicine Valley.
As the third seed, Wallace (12-9) played second-seeded Paxton (11-9).
The winner will face the winner of top-seeded Medicine Valley and fourth-seed Brady Thursday at 7 p.m. at Medicine Valley.
Medicine Valley (18-3) is fifth in the Class D2 point standings.
Wallace sits 18th in the point standings and will need two big wins or a lot of luck to have any chance of getting a wildcard.
