Wallace boys, girls second at Tri-State Invite

The Wallace track teams toughed out miserable conditions April 5 at the Tri-State Invite.
Head Coach Danielle Snider said the meet, held at Creek Valley in Chappell, had awful weather.
“The athletes competed very well and even had some PR’s with the terrible weather,” Snider said.
Between the weather and team members gone for the State FFA Convention, Snider was especially excited that both teams claimed runner-up honors.
For the Wildcat girls, Mariah Gardner swept the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs.
Gardner was joined by Ashley Roberston, Ryleigh Hanson and Reagan Pelster on the winning 3,200-meter relay team.
Kendyl Flaming was second in the 400-meter dash and Brooke Bryant was second in the triple jump.
For the boys, Carson Glunz claimed 100- and 200-meter dash wins.
Trey Robertson won the 1,600-meter run and was nipped at the wire in the 800-meter run, settling for second place. Robertson was also second in the 3,200-meter run.
Kolton Hager was second in the shot put, while Kyler Flaming was second in the high jump. Jesson McClintock was second in the triple jump.
Wallace will hit the road Thursday for Sutherland.
Snider said the Wildcats are looking forward to seeing some new teams there.
