Building a strong foundation

Brad Loy, right, and Wayne Loy, employees of Doolittle Construction from Madrid, work to stack Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) that will be filled with concrete for the basement at 204 Hancock in Grant. The house that will be placed on top of the basement is part of a home build being developed by Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment corporation and other local entities. According to Amy Thelander, administrator for SWNCBC, it is anticipated that the house will be placed on the foundation sometime in January, 2023. Thelander said the house is still up for sale, and she hopes it sells before it is finished. She encourages anyone who is interested in the home to call SWNCBC at 308-352-4338. Other entities involved with the build are the City of Grant’s Community Redevelopment Authority and Noyes Quality Homes.
