    As of noon, March 1, the following are the candidate filings received at the Perkins County Clerk’s office for the 2022 election. New candidates had until 5 p.m. March 1 to file. (I) indicates incumbents.

    Village board candidates have a deadline for July 15 for incumbents and Aug 1 for non-incumbents.
Dist. 44 senator seat
    Ed Dunn of Grant is no longer the lone candidate for the Dist. 44 State Senator race.
    According to the Secretary of State’s election page, Teresa J. Ibach of Sumner has filed for the Dist. 44 seat.
    Both candidates hope to replace Sen. Dan Hughes of Venango, who is serving his final year. He could not run again due to term limits.
    There could be additional filings as the March 1 filing deadline still had several hours to go at press time.
