The Perkins County Chamber of Commerce hosted a chili challenge last week on Friday, January 10 at the Perkins County Schools during the basketball games. Seven entrants dished up their best chili recipes, while attendees paid a small fee to get in and sample them all, before voting on their favorite. City Superintendent Edward Dunn took first place and won $100 in chamber bucks, while Monica Poppe came in second to earn a $50 prize, and Ben Polson took third for $25. The Chamber Chili Challenge raised around $580 dollars that has been slated to go to the “Always for Kids” program at the school. The Chamber was especially grateful to the seven entrants for their participation, as there wouldn’t have been a fundraiser without their delicious chili’s.
