Gifts and prizes sought for 2020 New Years Baby
As the new year approaches, the time also comes to anticipate another “New Year’s Baby” here in Perkins County.
The Grant Tribune Sentinel partners with Perkins County Health Services once again this year, to carry on a decades old tradition of celebrating the first baby born each year by showering them with the love you can only feel in a small community like this one.
Businesses, organizations, and any individual who may feel so inclined, are encouraged to contribute to the gift basket in any way they see fit.
The Tribune office serves as the collection site for gifts this year, and donations can be made up until the birth of the lucky babe.
The January first issue of the Tribune will include a complete list of the generous contributions.

History of the First Baby
Through what can be lightly traced back to 1978, the First Baby Award has been given at least 40 times, with the only gap coming from the year 2002.
Boys and girls alike and once, even a set of twins have claimed the title, and one baby earned his family recognition despite his February arrival.
