A week for “County Pride, County Wide” begins this coming Sunday. The Perkins County Fair Board has, once again, filled the week to come with many exciting events for young and old.

Because of changes to the 4-H scheduled this year, all activities begin a day earlier on Sunday. with the 4-H horse show at 8 a.m. and closes on Saturday the 23 with another big named country band, BlackHawk.

The schedule is full of something for everyone; from the usual crowd favorites of the parade, 4-H animal shows, bounce houses, and bingo -— to the new attractions of ax throwing, an archery shoot and an escape room. Also back by popular demand will be the mechanical bull.

Thursday morning starts off with the Chamber’s breakfast at 6 a.m.

Thursday night’s entertainment is brought by the Perkins County FFA who will host “Farm Olympics”, followed by the wild adventures of the Mayfield Ranch’s “Bulls & Barrels”.

Bounce houses, putt-putt golf and bingo will be available from Thursday - Saturday.

Following the beef show will be a ranch rodeo held on Friday evening, in memory of Hoyt Hendricks. Youth are invited to participate in the mutton bustin during the ranch rodeo.

The Perkins County Fair Board will host a beer garden on Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday starts with the parade which will take the same route that it did last year. Registration will be on the south side of the park, with line up starting on the north side as has been in the past. Early parade entries are encouraged at Pinnacle Bank.

The parade will head down Central Avenue and then head west on 3rd St. The route then turns south onto Lincoln and then west on 2nd St.

The changes to the parade route are due to concert set up beginning Saturday morning for BlackHawk. Opening for BlackHawk this year will be Adam Doleac.

Also on Saturday the 4-H BBQ and the tractor pull.

Find a full schedule of events on the Perkins County Fair Board’s website.
