PCHS Foundation hosts employee soup supper

The Perkins County Health Services Foundation hosted a soup supper take away event for all employees of its community health care system. The Board members provided the soups, the Crafting Clovers 4-H club made the desserts and the Madrid General Store made the dinner rolls to create a take away meal for every member of the household.
There were 21 crockpots full of soup and 16 different kinds of soups. Prior to the take away event, the different categories of soups were tasted by a panel of judges and winners were selected.
Chelsea McGreer was a return winner with her chicken noodle soup. Todd Kraus won the beef category with his beef stew and he won one of the specialty groups with his tomato soup. Brent and Angela Gloy won the chili category and their creamy chicken taco soup won the second specialty category.
Judges included Dr. Shane Banks, Neil Hilton, Brent Gloy, Cori Sis, Jorje Jette Geisert, Ed Dunn, Mayor Lisa Schmitt, Ben Holmstedt, John Long, Commissioner Steve Tucker, Patrick McGreer and Todd Kraus.
The PCHS Foundation sent home over 200 soup meals during the event on Feb. 9.
“We wanted to share our appreciation for the outstanding care our community healthcare providers make possible for our area and beyond. This was a small token of appreciation and a delicious and fun way to show it,” said Jackie Urdhal, Administrator for the Foundation.
