Pool going in the park

Grant’s new swimming pool will be located in the Grant park—in the northeast corner to be exact.

Council members approved the location for the aquatic center on a 3-1 vote during their regular meeting Oct. 22.

Mayor Lisa Schmidt said that site was the recommendation of the Park & Recs Committee. That committee includes chair Melissa Wilson, vice-chair Wendy Skeels and secretary Val Hochstein.

Brittany Brott, park and recs director is a non-voting member of the committee. 

Schmidt noted the committee discussed a possible location at the fairgrounds but ultimately felt the best place was at the park.
