Two more file for 2026 Primary Election in Perkins County as incumbent deadline passes
Two more have thrown their hats into the ring for the primary election in Perkins County, with Tuesday, Feb. 17 being the last day for incumbents to file. Non-incumbents have until March 2 to file for the primary.
New filers as of Tuesday, Feb. 17, according to Perkins County Clerk James Brueggeman, are Melissa K. Wilson and Jeffrey D. Skeels, both for Perkins County Hospital Board.

All filers, both incumbents and non-incumbents, who have filed for offices for community and county elections in Perkins County as of Tuesday, Feb. 17, and the offices they have filed for, are as follows:

The general election in November will see positions up for all three village boards including the following: Venango-Christina Farnsworth, Troy Grotham, and Dennis Ekdahl; Madrid-Kamryn Loy and Jennifer Baumgartner; and Elsie-Doug Curtis and Vic Perez. Those wanting to run for a village office have until July 15 to file for incumbents, and Aug. 3 for non-incumbents.
Filing for local elections is completed at the county clerk’s office at the courthouse, while statewide candidates can find paperwork to file on the Secretary of State’s website or in-person in Lincoln.
Voter Registration
Voter deadlines for the final day for in-person voter registration and absentee ballot applications for the primary election is May 1.
