Rebecca Zogg, who was appointed as the new postmaster in Grant last year and brings nearly nine years of experience with the U.S. Postal Service to the role, is enjoying her new position.

“I love small-town Nebraska,” Zogg said. “So I am excited to be here in Perkins County.”

Her move to Grant is both a career advancement and a personal step. Zogg is engaged, and her fiancé lives in Ogallala, making the position a good fit as she continues building her future in the area, she said.

Zogg began her postal career as a Postal Clerk in Maxwell. After three years, she transferred to Gothenburg as a Postal Clerk, where she also assisted several surrounding post offices. In July 2025, she accepted the postmaster position in Grant. In her current role, she oversees multiple offices, including Elsie, Madrid, and Venango, and leads a team of 10 employees.

She said customer service is a top priority and encourages patrons to complete the survey found at the bottom of their receipt, noting that feedback helps improve operations and service. Zogg said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve the community and looks forward to meeting and working with local residents in her new position.

Zogg was born and raised in North Platte, where she grew up on a farm with her four brothers and two sisters. She said family has always been important to her, and she enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews and traveling when she can.
