Household hazardous waste collection to be held March 25

Grant Lions Club will be sponsoring a household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, March 25 at the Perkins County Fairgrounds from 8-9 a.m.

The collection is open to everyone in the area, including neighboring towns. Items that will be accepted include cleaning products, lawn and garden chemicals, paint, batteries, used oil and other hazardous household items. No tires, appliances or items containing asbestos will be accepted. 

Items need to be in disposable containers no larger than five gallons and not more than 50 pounds. Containers will not be returned. 

Program personnel reserve the right to reject and materials. 

This is a free service provided by Red Willow Household Hazardous Waste Program. Support for the program is provided by Nebraska Department of Environmental Waste Reduction and Recycling, Perkins County Commissioners and City of Grant.
