Hastings Memorial Library recently announced a new literacy initiative being implemented through a Youth Grant for Excellence from the Nebraska Library Commission.

 The three main focus areas of the initiative include literacy at home, literacy in the library and literacy in the community. 

The first area to be highlighted is literacy in the library. Last Tuesday kicked off Toddler Time at the library, with 24 youngsters in attendance.
