Pool opening Memorial Day

Water filled the depths of the Grant Municipal Pool on Tuesday in preparation of its Memorial Day opening on May 29.

City Superintendent Dana Harris said city crew members cleaned and prepared the pool for painting, which was completed this past weekend by city crew and lifeguards.

New Park and Rec Director Rachel Patrick and the lifeguards were on site Monday and Tuesday cleaning the grounds and bath houses and completing other tasks to prepare for the opening.  

This season’s lifeguards include Samantha Snogren, Katie Phillips, Sydney Wilson, Katie Patrick, Aryn Seiler, Jasmine Dannar, Jerad Phillips and Aaron Fay. 

In addition to Patrick and two city crew members, Snogren and Katie Phillips are certified operators. 

The pool will be open Monday through Friday from 1-5:30 p.m., with lap swimming available for one hour beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 6:30. Night swimming is available Monday-Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. The pool will be open 1-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 

Family season passes are available at a cost of $100 for up to six immediate family members. Additional family members may be added for $10 each. Individual passes are $40 for adults and $35 for K-12 students and 60-plus senior citizens. Passes can be purchased now at city hall or at the pool starting Monday. 

Daily fees are $4 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.

Children ages 0-6 are free with an adult. 

Water aerobics will be offered 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The class is free with a season pass, or $20 plus daily fee.

Public swimming lessons will be offered June 12-16 and July 10-14. 

Pool parties will be available for $100 for the first hour and $75 for the second hour.
