Pulpit Reflections

There are two kinds of fools

We have been fooled by the weather, fooled by the devil, kept in the dark and lied to every day. The Bible talks about being a fool for Christ.

The fool, as the world would say, is the one who believes the Bible to be true and that Jesus Christ was virgin-born and that he died on a Roman Cross and was raised to LIFE the third day and that He is a living, everlasting Savior.

For you and I who have trusted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, Paul in I Corinthians 4:10, calls us a fool for Christ.

“We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honorable, but we are despised.”

The fool that says ‘NO’ to God will find himself eternally separated from God forever. Revelation 21:8. The “fools” that have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior will spend eternity in heaven with our Father and our loved ones.

The world says it is foolish to go to church, to hear the preaching of the Word of God but Paul says in I Corinthians 1:18, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish, foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

Look also in verse 21b, “it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

I am a fool for Christ, having been saved by his grace and called to preach God’s word. I want the devil, as well as you, to know I am a fool for Christ and I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul tells in Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth.”

Whose fool are you? Are you the devil’s fool or a fool for Christ? Do you believe He would save you if you asked Him? Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

A decision to ignore God’s invitation is an automatic choice for eternal darkness and a place prepared for the devil and his angels.

Revelation 21:8, “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Many folks today dislike being reminded of the coming judgment and eternity. But the bottom line is Whose Fool Are You?!

Have you made YOUR reservation for heaven by receiving God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ?

Do you want SMOKING or NONSMOKING (Heaven or Hell)? The choice is yours!  Ask Him to save you today!
