Lady Plainsmen can’t weather the Storm in final game
Perkins County traveled to Chappell on Tuesday where the Lady Plainsmen competed in their final game of the regular season against the Creek Valley Storm.
A 3-point shot and three free throws went in for PC during the first, while the Lady Plainsmen defense allowed the Storm to take the score to 13.
The PC girls kept up with the Storm in the second quarter, adding 12 points to their side of the board, while allowing 14 for Creek Valley. At halftime, PC trailed by 10, 28-18.
Two baskets each from Sydney Wilson and Maggie Earl put up eight points for PC, but their defense allowed seven points, and fouls led to another four free points for Creek Valley. At the end of the third, PC was behind by 13, with 39-26 on the board.
Despite being the highest scoring period for the Lady Plainsmen with 13 points up, Creek Valley took off at the end of the game on a 12-point streak, that added to their lead, leaving PC with a loss, 65-39.

The Plainsmen played North Platte St. Pat’s in the first round of sub-districts in Hershey on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Results will be in next week’s issue.
