Randy “Ace” Roberts

Randy “Ace” Lynn Roberts, 62, of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska passed away suddenly on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at his home. 

He was born on Jan. 20, 1956 in Phillips, Neb., to Theodore and Ruth (Nelson) Roberts, the youngest of three children. 

As a young boy, he was raised in Phillips, and moved to Grand Island, Neb., where he attended grade school. 

Ace, as he was affectionately known, later moved to Lincoln, Neb., where he was employed with a roofing company until he was injured in a fall in 1980 at the age of 24. 

After his injury, Ace moved to Beaver Crossing where he mowed yards and helped neighbors and friends whenever he was able. In his spare time, he loved fishing with his friends and was an avid fan of all sports. He had a great attitude and enjoyed the company of his friends. For a time, Ace also coached softball teams. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane Rivas.

He is survived by his sister, Deb Cornelius of Grant, Neb.; nephews, Kody (Bonnie) Cornelius of Kearney, Neb., and Matthew (Jill) Brodbeck of Grand Island and a host of friends. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Beaver Crossing United Methodist Church with Pastor Tamora Holtz officiating. Cremation, no visitation. 

Memorials may be directed in care of the family. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lauber-Moore Funeral Home of Friend, Neb.
