Linda McCollam

Linda Diana McCollam, 69, passed away Aug. 2. 2018 at her home in Fort Lupton, Colorado.

Linda was born in Grant, Nebraska, to Margaret and Virgil Johnson Dec. 23, 1948. She was raised and went to school in Madrid, Neb.  

After graduating high school, Linda moved to Denver to attend cosmetology school. She married Dale McCollam Nov. 23, 1968, in Grant. 

Linda and Dale lived in and around the Denver area, then settled in Dale’s hometown of Fort Lupton. 

She worked as a beautician for many years while her daughters were young.  Linda had a variety of jobs that included working for the Weld Re-8 School District.  

She was very involved in numerous groups such as Booster Club, Forlurado and PTSA.  She also served on a community board for the Fort Lupton Parks and Recreation District.

Linda was very involved in the community.  

She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband Dale, of Fort Lupton; daughter, Shanna (Robert) Nash, of Fort Lupton, and Nicole McCollam, of Denver; grandchildren Aryn, Kelsea, and Rylan; great-grandchildren Austynn and Elizabeth; sisters Marlene, LaDonna, Shirley, Naomi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosary and funeral services were  held Thursday Aug. 9 at St. Williams Catholic Church, in Fort Lupton. 

Linda’s family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Front Range Hospice and Palliative Care and Dr. Jonathan Winthers.
