Keegan’s ArKade offers plenty of space for several people to play different games at a time.

Keegan’s ArKade: Rated E for Everyone

There’s a new hangout in Grant, and kids of all ages can enjoy the fun at Keegan’s ArKade.

Keegan Sims, a sophomore at Perkins County Schools this year, and his 14-year-old sister, Emmerald (Emme), thought an arcade would be the perfect addition to the community.

“I noticed the closest place like this was in North Platte. I thought it would be a good place for local kids to come and play some games,” Keegan said.

Keegan’s ArKade offers a variety of over 500 game options on several different gaming consoles, hand-held gaming devices and tabletop board games.

From Atari to Nintendo, all the way to the PS4 gaming systems, and even Jenga or Clue, there is a game for every generation.

They also have been adding puzzles to their plethora of options.

“It’s a place that’s rated E for Everyone!” Emme said.

Keegan explained most of the games in the arcade are taken from his personal collection. Some he got from family members, and they did purchase a few for the arcade.

For just $5, guests can “stay and play” as long as they’d like, during operating hours.

There is a 135-inch big screen in the arcade which can be used for the video games or to watch a movie.

Several smaller TVs are hung up along the wall that can be hooked up to any console, and most consoles will allow for play by two to four players.

Depending on the games being played, about 25 players can be playing at a time, and a few more if some visitors are playing tabletop games or puzzles as well.

“Emme’s Edibles” is the snack bar in the arcade, serving up a variety of treats ranging from chips and candy, to Hot Pockets, popcorn and even popsicles.

The hours of operation are planned to be 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturday hours will be 1-8 p.m. and Sundays from 3-7 p.m.

“We want to stay open for as long as we can, like until we go to college,” Emme added.

Private parties are encouraged and available upon request as well.

Keegan’s ArKade is located in Suite B at 220 Central Avenue, in the upstairs area of Reese Appliance.
