Hilton takes over as Westview executive director

Amber Hilton of Ogallala, is the new executive director at Westview Retirement Community.

Hilton took the helm last month, replacing Ronda Hutt, who had been seeking a replacement for her retirement after serving as director for eight years.

Hilton started at Westview almost a year ago in October, working in the kitchen and then housekeeping. She then replaced Roxie Lampmann as bookkeeper, and also began training for the director position.

Before coming to Westview, Hilton worked at Golden Ours Convalescent Home for five years as a CNA, med aide and in the activity department.

Taking over as bookkeeper is Heather Hampton of Grant.

Westview currently has 30 residents, with one open room. They participate in activities throughout the week, including but not limited to exercising, dominoes, bingo, movies and outings.

“This is the type of community I think every town needs,” said Hilton, noting they are like one big, happy family.

Hampton agreed, saying she loves working at Westview and is so glad Grant has the facility available to them.

“It’s very important to try to do the best you can for your elders in your community,” said Hampton.
