McArtor honored for 30 years at PCHS

Dana McArtor, director of nursing at Perkins County Health Services, was honored for 30 years of service at their 50s-themed employee banquet Friday, April 26.

Dr. Cliff Colglazier, dressing the part in his Grant letterman’s jacket and plaid pants, said McArtor pitches in and helps wherever and whenever she’s needed.

“There aren’t many directors you would find helping on the floor at 11 at night when we are short-handed.”

Colglazier said McArtor is very knowledgable and her assessment and emergency care is quick and thorough. Words he used to describe her included great example, great leader, calm, close friend to all, caring, kind and hard worker.

“There aren’t many nurses who administer chemo in the morning, help catch a baby in the afternoon, start an IV on a tough stick and go back and do paperwork,” he said. “She could start an IV on anyone.”

Taffy Hastings, who has worked with McArtor for all 30 years, said McArtor never expects anyone to do a job she herself would not do.

Faye Johnson, who was recognized for 25 years of service, said whenever the nurses need help, McArtor is always there.

CEO Neil Hilton said, “Dana McArtor’s got it all held down all the time.”

Several others were honored for years of service at the annual event.
