Wallace Senior Micah Swedberg claimed the Class D State Championship in the 400 meter dash at NSAA State Track and Field Championships in Omaha this past weekend.
Swedberg won his heat on Friday, May 17 with a time of 51.40, placing fourth in prelims to advance to finals on Saturday.
He ran finals in 49.93 to take the gold a full 1.11 seconds in front of the second place runner.
Swedberg also earned a fourth-place medal in the long jump with a jump of 20-11.25.
He ran the 200 in 23.68, placing 14th in prelims.
The lone qualifier for Wallace, Swedberg single-handedly tied for 15th as a team out of 102 Class D track teams.
