Fair board planning for 2020 events

With a successful fair under their belts this year, Perkins County fair board members are already working towards events for 2020.

One of the goals the board wants to accomplish is obtaining a permanent liquor license for the grounds.

The process has already begun according to fair board president Darren Jensen.

This will allow the board to provide alcohol at the numerous events held at the fair building throughout the year as well as during the fair itself.

With a license, board members said it will add some additional revenue opportunities to promote fair events.

To kick off the new year, the board is planning their “Whiskey on Ice,” event for Friday, Jan. 10.

The evening will feature the music of Whiskey Bent, the same group that headlined this year’s fair entertainment.

In the spring, the fair board will host their annual Showdown cattle show.

Of course, everyone is aready looking forward to the entertainment at the 2020 fair.

At last year’s fair, the board announced they have booked the band Sawyer Brown as the headliner for a July 25, 2020 show.

Whiskey Bent will return once again to open for Sawyer Brown.

The dates for the 2020 fair are July 19-25.
