PC Chamber to host Trick-or-Treat Street Friday

The Perkins County Chamber of Commerce has decided to go ahead with the annual Trick-or-Treat Street event, however, due to concerns over COVID, Chamber has put a few guidelines in place.

From 4-5 p.m. this Friday, October 30, businesses are invited to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters

“In order to try and reduce the risk of exposure to Covid, we are going to be doing Trick or Treat Street a little bit differently this year. We are asking that all trick or treaters travel in one direction in order to avoid congestion on the sidewalk. Please help us by letting people know the direction of traffic if they happen to be going by your business traveling in the wrong direction,” Chamber President Tawna Holmstedt said.

FLOW OF TRAFFIC

All trick or treating on the West side of Central Avenue should be South bound and all trick or treating on the East side shall be North bound. (i.e. if you start at the Senior Center, please continue heading south until you get to Hatch’s before heading to the other side of the street - once at Hatch’s please go North (towards In & Out)).

Also, all candy will be handled by the businesses and the businesses will be putting the candy into the kids’ bags.  The kids will not be allowed to grab in and get the candy out themselves.

“If you and your employees feel more comfortable wearing gloves and face coverings to do this, please do so!!  We appreciate all of your help to try and limit any exposure!

Please have a safe and fun Trick or Treat Street! We hope to see you all there and to have a great turnout,” Holmstedt said.
