Lion’s Club statue ‘Melvin’ returns to Senior Center

On a dark and stormy night in May, “Melvin” the Grant Lion’s lion statue was taken and whisked to Lake Maloney in Lincoln County. He spent the summer at the lakefront home of Wallace Lions George and Kathy Witte.

On the evening of July 29, nine Grant Lions travelled to Lake Maloney to reclaim Melvin. After enjoying a picnic meal with the Wallace Lions and some good natured negotiations Melvin was back in the hands of the Grant Lions. Melvin the Lion should finally be home again on a shelf in the Senior Center.
