Three return to girls golf team
Girls Golf Coach Rich Borman will lean on his three returners as the team gets ready to open the season Thursday at Bayard.
Of the three, two are seniors—Kayla Reichenberg and Emme Sims—and one is a junior—Sarah Cockerill.
Borman said all three have taken their game up a notch from last year. He’s excited for what that means this season.
During driving drills last week in practice, Borman said the girls were crushing the ball.
He said he expects the trio to build on their experience from last year to be more competitive this season.
His four new team members include senior Madelyn Ingold and sophomores Kaitlin Meyer, Ella Uehling and Emma Klahn.
He said the four are new to the game and the sophomores participated in the summer youth league Borman started so they are getting a feel for the game.
He said Ingold has been a pleasant surprise with how well she’s picked up the game in just four months.
She will be a positive force for the team.
He said the team has set some lofty goals for the season that he feels are achievable.
His goal is to continue to build the golf program at PCS, both on the girls and boys side.
He said he’s enjoyed a great deal of support from the community in those efforts.
