Wallace to hold candidate forum March 27

A candidate forum will be held Sunday, March 28, 4 p.m. at the Wallace Community Hall.
Candidates who will be present to meet the public and answer questions are Chris Bruns, Brenda Fourtner and Mike Jacobson (Legislative District 42); Elizabeth Tegtmeier, Pat Moore and Robin Stevens (State School Board); and Dan Estermann and Dan Nelsen (Middle Republican NRD).
Most of Perkins County and Lincoln County belong to Legislative District 42.
District 42
Bruns resides in the North Platte area, where he was born and raised. He serves on the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners, and is focused on growing the agricultural economy.
Fourtner is a Broken Bow native who now resides in North Platte. She is an independent provider who works with disabled individuals.
Jacobson of North Platte was recently appointed by Gov. Pete Ricketts to replace Mike Groene, who resigned his position.
State School Board
Tegtmeier, native of North Platte has a Master of Arts in eduction with a focus on curriculum and instruction.
Moore is a resident of Litchfield, was a chairman on the board that created a Christian school in Kearney, and has served as a pastor for 20 years in various Nebraska churches.
Stevens of Gothenburg has been an educator, coach and administrator for over 40 years.
MRNRD
Estermann of Wellfleet Nelsen of Stockville are both incumbents on the 11-person board.
In a forum setting, the candidates will all be asked, and will answer the same question. Specific questions will not be directed to them individually.
Moderating the event will be Lynn Swanson, auctioneer from Wallace.
