Library holding first ever jigsaw puzzle competition
Anyone searching for a unique activity in Grant may want to consider the Hastings Memorial Lbrary’s jigsaw puzzle competition to be held on Saturday, April 2, 1:30-5:30 p.m. at the Perkins County Senior Center.
It is the first of two library fundraisers to be held this year. The second will be a taco feed in late June. Both fundraisers will off set the cost of day-to-day operations of the library.
The puzzle contest will consist of competitions in two divisions: youth and adult. Adults can compete as teams or individuals.
Teams and individuals will attempt to complete the same puzzle, which is wrapped in paper until the competition starts. The fastest team or individual with the least amount of pieces remaining after time is called will be the winner. Different age divisions will have different completion times.
Entry forms are available at Hastings Memorial Library in Grant.
There will be prizes, giveaways, treats and bragging rights for the winners, said Ashley Colglazier, event organizer.
Colglazier, who serves as the library board president, is seeking donations from individuals, families, service organizations and businesses to help with the cost of competition supplies.
Anyone wishing to donate or participate in the event should pick up an entry form at the library or contact Colglazier at 308-353-6563.
