July 15, Aug. 1 are deadlines for filing

July 15 is the last day an incumbent can file for the general election for any office of Village Boards in the county, with August 1 being the last day a non-incumbent can file, according to Perkins County Clerk Rita Long.  

The Clerk’s office will be open until 5 p.m. on July 15 and August 1 for candidate filing. 

The statute relating to this is rule is 32-606 and covers candidates for public power district board of directors (grossing less than 40 million dollars); reclamation district board of directors; educational service unit board; county weed district board; township officers; and village board of trustees.
