Bad breaks cost Wallace in Friday’s game against Brady

The Wallace football team fell to 1-3 Friday night with a 12-32 loss to an athletic Brady squad.

The Wildcats fell behind 0-8 early in first quarter.

Wallace looked to tie the game with 2:24 left in the quarter, but had a touchdown called back for a penalty.

A second touchdown was called back because of a penalty seconds into the second quarter.

Brady increased its lead midway through the second quarter with a touchdown that left Wallace trailing 0-16.

The Wildcats got on the board with 29 seconds left in the half on a long touchdown pass from Carson Glunz to Kyler Flaming.

Brady added a touchdown midway through the third quarter, before the Wildcats put points on the board with a Riley Strawder touchdown run.

A final Brady touchdown with 1:27 left in the third quarter rounded out scoring in the game.

Defensively, Strawder had seven solo tackles and three tackles for loss in the game. On the offensive side of the ball, Strawder rushed twice for 20 yards and caught two passes for 44 yards.

Carson Glunz battled an early game injury and finished with 46 yards rushing, while completing four of six passes for 85 yards.

Up next

Wallace will head to RPAC rival and district foe Wauneta-Palisade (3-1) Friday. WP lost its first game of the season 21-58 to Southwest last week.
